The World Photography Organisation (WPO) and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®)’s boutique brand, Hotel Indigo®, revealed the seven shortlisted entrants for the ‘Flavours of the Neighbourhood Photography Contest’, which aims to discover emerging photographic talent.
The images were judged on how well they succeeded in capturing abstract or literal interpretations of the tastes, smells and colours of the hotels’ neighbourhoods, in a bid to inspire people to discover local experiences when travelling.
The competition attracted entrants representing Hotel Indigo destinations in the UK, Germany, Israel, Italy, Russia and Spain. Submissions were shortlisted by representatives from WPO and the Hotel Indigo brand.
The shortlisted candidates are:
Andrzej Bochenski, from Poland who photographed London
Julija Svetlova, from Lithuania who photographed London
Anuradha Nadimpalli, from United States who photographed Barcelona
Alexander Voss, from Germany who photographed Berlin
Lisa Shalom, from United States who photographed Tel Aviv and Rome
Roberto Caldarella, from Italy who photographed Rome
The winner will be announced in Spring 2015 and will be rewarded with a paid commission to shoot for the Hotel Indigo brand, the opportunity to exhibit at Somerset House, London, during the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition in May 2015, and 375,000 IHG Rewards Club points*.
